Fall Camping at Worlds End

The leaves are falling from the trees, and so are the temperatures but don’t let that stop you from exploring your own back yard.  This time of year offers some of the best conditions for outdoor activities and some of the best sights to see. The sights and sounds at Worlds End State Park in Forksville, PA certainly don’t disappoint.

Sitting in a narrow S-Shaped valley near Loyalsock Creek, World’s End State Park offers some of the best views of fall foliage this time of year.  There are over 20 miles of biking and hiking trails for outdoor activists to explore.  The hiking trails offer a bit of a challenge as some areas are steep and rocky, but if you are up for it the views from the trails are outstanding. Visitors to the state park can also take part in boating and fishing, with proper licenses, and can hunt in certain parts of the park during hunting season.

If you are looking to stay the night in the park, there are over 70 sites for camping which can accommodate RV’s, campers, and tents of all sizes.  There are water and shower houses available for your use, and half of the sites have electric hookups.  If you don’t have an RV or camper of your own, the park has 19 rustic cabins for rent. The cabins come equipped with basic appliances, a fireplace, and basic furniture. Guests are invited to bring their own linens.  Although the campsites are closed in the winter, the cabins are for use year-round.

Also in the area of Worlds End State Park is Loyalsock Canyon Vista, which can be reached through Mineral Spring and Cold Run roads. The area is on the outskirts of Loyalsock Forest Preserve which is also a great area to explore nature and all its wonders.
