Ever thought you would be on a waiting list to get into a campground? Well, if you plan on attending the ever popular Grange Encampment and Fair in Centre Hall, PA you might just have to endure the wait. As of right now they have over 500 on a waiting list to camp at the Grange Fairgrounds for their fair week running August 21st- August 28th. So, what makes this fair so special that people are willing to wait to camp? Deemed the nations “Most Unique” county fair, The Grange Fair in Centre County, PA has been around for over 100 years. In fact this year they celebrate their 140th year, and people are traveling from all over the state to attend. The Grange Encampment or otherwise known as “Tent City” is what makes this fair so unique. The Grange fairgrounds consist of one thousand spots for tents and fifteen hundred spots for RV camp sites where people literally “move in” for a week just to attend. It is one of the friendliest little towns in America and people keep coming back for that reason. Hence the large amount of people on the waiting list just to experience it and if you are not one of the first people to get your application in when they are sent out in April, you might have to try again next year. Activities at the fair include live concerts from well known acts such as The Nashville Blue Grass Band, Chubby Checkers and the Wildcats, and new country artists The Swon Brothers. The fair also features live horse shows and competitions, beauty pageants, tons of rides for the entire family, and of course delicious food you won’t find anywhere else.
